NFL Draft Prospects | Top 31-40 | EJ Savage Big Board @BoysNtheZone
If you missed the rest of the Big Board, I’ll post the links before we get into the top 31-40 NFL Draft Prospects.
Let’s get into the next batch of prospects!
31. Anthony Richardson, QB, Florida
Richardson tested as the best athlete in combine history at the QB position. His film evaluation was up and down to say the least, but the more comfortable he got, the better he got. He’s a streaky passer, that can make some really nice throws in the intermediate levels of the field. His accuracy and timing need to be better at the next level , but he can become the best player in this draft with better coaching and players around him. Plus legs allow him to be utilized in designed runs due to his size and strength, in addition to being a natural playmaker.
32. Myles Murphy, DE, Clemson
Murphy is an athletic edge with size and play strength to be a really nice piece at the next level. He exhibits bend, bull rushes, swims, dips, etc. but I don’t know that he always plays with 100% effort. His 2021 film is the reason he’s this high on the list, but I still think he has room to improve. He needs to get into the right situation to make an instant impact, but he has the tools to become a fan favourite for whichever team drafts him.
33. Michael Mayor, TE, Notre Dame
Mayor is the “do it all” TE in this draft. He’s a plus blocker, pass catcher, red-zone target, and safety net for any QB, but I don’t know that he’s truly elite in any category. He projects out as a really good TE with any team, but if he gets into a system with an elite QB and/or that runs a lot of 12 personnel he could be a top 5 player at the position, time will tell, but he’s about as safe of a pick as you could ask for.
34. Luke Musgrave, TE, Oregon State
Musgrave is the ultimate upside player, dealing with a covid year in which he sat out and a year stricken with injuries he’s not a player that has a ton of film to assess. He’s a former 4 sport athlete, that pops on tape with smooth hips, excellent route running, good hands, and the ability to become a good blocker at the next level it really comes down to one question— do the medicals check out and if so, can be stay healthy?
35. Steve Avila, G, TCU
Avila is an interior Offensive lineman with guard/center flex. He’s good in both pass pro. and run blocking, with a good understanding of the game. A gain in size and with the continued gains in strength could serve him well if he stays at guard, but overall he needs to improve his hand tech at both positions. Projects out to be a plus starter at the next level.
36. Joe Tippmann, C, Wisconsin
Tippmann is a massive centre standing at 6’6, but don’t let that fool you. He’s extremely athletic, great in pulls and climbing to the second level on blocks. Exhibits nice strength, and has excellent play IQ, expect Tippmann to be a day 1 starter and make a couple Pro-bowls in the future. Needs to make a conservative effort to sinking into his stance and play lower due to his height.
37. Felix Anudike-Uzomah, ED, Kansas State
Uzomah is one of the few edge rushers that have true polish to their game. He has a pass rush toolbox that include swims, dips, spins, push-pulls, and bull rushes while exhibiting solid bend off the edge. Decent in run defense, but needs to get better at the next level. Has nice size, strength, and athleticism to be a really nice piece for a team in need of a technical rusher.
38. Will McDonald IV, ED, Iowa State
McDonald is a tough player to scout, he profiles as a speed rusher with good bend around the edge, but far too often on his 2022 film he left you wanting more. He’s had production at the college level, and absolutely can be a great situational pass rusher entering the league, but to truly become a difference maker he’ll have to add size, get better in run defense, and equip himself with a bigger arsenal of pass rush moves other than his fantastic spin move.
39. Cody Mauch, OT, North Dakota State
“The toothless wonder boy” Mauch is a really easy player to fall in love with, ( and that’s not just because of his amazing headshot.) From his play strength, athletic ability, foot quickness, and just overall willingness to do whatever is asked of him—it’s hard not to appreciate him as a player. Mauch has the capability to play all 5 positions on the offensive line, so why isn’t he a consensus top 10 player? Well there are some growing pains; he doesn’t have great length for the tackle position, doesn’t have great size for the guard position, and lacks some of the nuance needed to play centre. With that being said, I’d take a chance on this kid in a heart beat.
40. Darnell Washington, TE, Georgia
Perhaps the best blocking TE in the league already? Okay, let me pump the brakes. Washington is a massive 6’7 264 pound TE with elite athletic traits ready to take the league by storm. Limited pass catching opportunities at Georgia has led to some scouts being weary of his true ability there, but at the very worst he’ll be an exceptional blocker and redzone threat… or, a possible tackle conversion— I’ll let whatever team that drafts him figure that out.
