🏈 2025 Dallas Cowboys Draft Class: Picks & Reactions

Round 1 (Pick 12): Tyler Booker, OG, Alabama

Tyler Booker on stage with Roger Goodell after being drafted by the Dallas Cowboys during the 2025 NFL Draft.

The Cowboys selected Tyler Booker to fill the void left by Zack Martin's retirement. Booker, a two-time First-Team All-SEC player, is known for his physicality and intelligence on the field. While some fans (including me) were disappointed the team didn't select a wide receiver like Mathew Golden, we do have to acknowledge Booker's potential to solidify the offensive line. Round 2 (Pick 44): Donovan Ezeiruaku, EDGE, Boston College

D-EZ, Eazy E, whatever you want to call him, Donovan Ezeiruaku brings a relentless motor and pass-rushing prowess to Dallas. Fans on social media have praised this pick, noting his potential to become a key contributor on defense. Excited to see how this plays out with Micah Parsons and Osa lined up, too. (Social media reaction to the second-round pick of the Dallas Cowboys, Donovan Ezeiruaku)

Round 3 (Pick 76): Shavon Revel Jr., CB, East Carolina

Revel Jr. was highlighted as one of the best value picks on Day 2. His physicality and ball skills have fans excited about his addition to the secondary. I’m always nervous about a player coming off any sort of leg injury, but, the rehab process is always improving so I still have high hopes. Round 5 (Pick 149): Jaydon Blue, RB, Texas

@RockyKnowsBest shares an image of the Texas running back room from the past 3 years.

Blue adds speed and versatility to the backfield. Fans appreciate his local ties and potential to contribute both as a runner and receiver. And when you look at the backfield that was at Texas with Blue, I can’t help but be a little over excited, and I’m OK with that. Round 5 (Pick 152): Shemar James, LB, Florida

James is known for his athleticism and tackling ability. He could provide depth and special teams contributions early on. We need linebackers, anyway, with Overshown coming off an injury and a couple new ones who arrived this offseason.

Round 6 (Pick 204): Ajani Cornelius, OL, Oregon

Cornelius offers versatility, having experience at both guard and tackle positions. His addition bolsters the offensive line depth with a 6’4, 310 pound frame. (Dallas Cowboys 2025 NFL draft picks: Selection analysis - ESPN)

Round 7 (Pick 217): Jay Toia, DT, UCLA

Toia brings size and strength to the interior defensive line. Fans are hopeful he can develop into a rotational player. Anything is better than Mazi, right now. Sorry Mazi, but I’m not lying. (Draft Central - Dallas Cowboys)

Round 7 (Pick 239): Phil Mafah, RB, Clemson

Mafah is a power runner who could complement the existing backfield. His physical style has drawn comparisons to former Cowboys backs. He should be the boom to Blue’s burst. (Cowboys NFL Draft 2025: Dallas selects Phil Mafah, RB, Clemson, pick 239)

Round 7 (Pick 247): Tommy Akingbesote, DT, Maryland

Akingbesote adds depth to the defensive tackle position. His college production suggests potential as a developmental prospect. He’s 6’4, 306 pounds, another big body to hopefully help fill those lingering holes on the defensive line. (Draft Central - Dallas Cowboys)

📣 Social Media & Fan Reactions

The Cowboys' draft strategy has sparked diverse reactions:

Overall, the draft class has been well-received, with particular praise for addressing needs on the offensive line and defense. However, we are still in the same position with our wideouts that we found ourselves in 2023 and 2024 heading into the season. Let’s hope that changes.
